We’ll be celebrating all weekend, but if you can only make the wedding we will be just as thrilled to see you!

  • Friday March 30: Welcome party

Please join us for cocktails and dinner hosted by Susan and Jeffrey Kleckner at Agave Restaurant, Castaways from 6pm.

  • Saturday March 31: Ceremony and reception

Please arrive by 3.30 for our 4pm ceremony. Dinner will follow and the band will play ‘til late - so bring your dancing shoes! Semi formal attire. Transport between Castaways and Waiuku/Pukekohe will be provided.

  • Sunday April 1: Post-wedding brunch

We’d love to see you for breakfast on the deck at Castaways from 9.00 - 11.30. Last service at 11am (so don’t sleep in too late..!)

If time allows on Sunday, join us at any time for a casual afternoon at the beach or in our chalets. Or better still, stay another night!

Please email kateandrobrsvp@gmail.com by January 31, 2012 to let us know if you are coming to the wedding.

It would be great it you could also let us know whether you will be joining us at the Welcome Party, and if you would like to be included for Sunday brunch.

Please advise of any dietary requirements when you RSVP, and we will do our best to accommodate.

Because we’ll be flying back to America after the wedding, it’s not practical for us to carry gifts. If you would like to send us a gift, our address is 440 Henry St #4, Brooklyn, NY 11231. If you’d like to choose something off one of our registries, we are registered at Crate and Barrel, Bloomingdales and Amazon.

Rental cars.

The easiest way to get to Waiuku and Castaways is by driving. You can rent a car from the Auckland CBD, Auckland Airport or Hamilton Airport. If you’re from the US, we drive on the left… or perhaps that’s the RIGHT. You’ll figure it out.

Another option is a shuttle service between Auckland Airport and Waiuku.

Franklin Shuttles charge $140 each way for a van trip with a maximum of 10 passengers (so $14 per passenger if you can fill the van). Single customers cost considerably more - about $80. Call them in advance on 0800 536 484.

There are a small number of rooms available for our guests at Castaways, but for those who don’t want to commute all the way back to Auckland (about 50 mins drive) you’ll need to find accommodation in nearby Waiuku (just a five minute drive away) or Pukekohe (about 15-20 minutes drive). We’ll provide transport between Castaways, Waiuku and Pukekohe on the day of the wedding.

If you need help arranging transport further afield, or back to Auckland we’d be happy to help. Just let us know by email with as much notice as possible!

Waiuku:

Sarah is holding all the accommodation for our guests for the nights of March 30 and 31 (you can choose to stay both nights, or just the 31st). There are three studio rooms, three one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom apartments. Say you are with the Benton-Kleckner wedding to book.

Jason has blocked out five studio rooms and five two-bedroom apartments. Say you are with the Benton-Kleckner wedding to book.

Backpacker style accommodation in New Zealand’s oldest pub.

Very basic cabins in a really lovely spot by the beach. There’s no website, but you can call (09) 235 9913.

Pukekohe and beyond:

Need a break from the festivities? There are plenty of things to do in the area (they won’t be as good as our wedding though).

We know it’s a bit of a journey for you, and we’d really appreciate it if you’re able to make it! We’d love to help you make the most of your Kiwi vacation. Make sure you get in touch for travel tips and advice.

March is the end of summer in New Zealand. The weather will still be nice and warm in the North Island, but the deep South can be a bit chilly. You may prefer to end your trip with the wedding than begin with it, to make the most of the warmer weather.

Easter weekend falls the week after the wedding (April 8 - 11). It’s a four day holiday in New Zealand, which means shops will be closed, cities will be quiet and vacation spots will be busier than usual.

We will be staying in Auckland the week before the wedding. If you’re around, we’d love to see you. Please get in touch to let us know your plans.

Children are welcome at the wedding ceremony, but it is not possible to include them at the reception dinner. We’d love to see them for breakfast on Sunday, but please let us know in advance so we can cater for them!

Many of the motels can organise babysitting services, and group care is offered at Castaways. You can also try the local babysitting agency:
